Another dreary night in Trenton as the Thunder played the final game of a three-game series against Connecticut. This time the key plays went in Trenton’s favor as a pair of sacrifice flies earned the Thunder a 2-0 victory. Pope had a nice bounce back start going 5.2 shutout innings as he earned his third victory of the season. Arias, Cox and Sanit finished off the Defenders with 3.1 perfect innings of relief. Here are some of the highlights…
TOP 1st – After a two-out single by Brett Pill, Brad Boyer sent a missle down the right field line for a double. However, Edwar Gonzalez played the carum off the wall cleanly and was able to throw out Pill at the plate for an exciting end to the inning.

BOTTOM 7th – With the bases loaded, Austim Krum (pictured) recorded his first Double-A RBI with a hard hit sacrafice fly to left field that plated Kevin Smith and put Trenton on top 1-0. The next batter Noah Hall followed suit with another sacrafice fly, this time to left field. Marcos Vechionacci scored from third on the play giving Trenton a 2-0 lead.
