Sweeping up the Krums

During Trenton’s last homestand, I sat down with the newest member of the Thunder, outfielder Austin Krum.  The Krum Bum (that’s what my old football coach used to call me when I messed up) was called up to Trenton from Tampa on June 16 after appearing in 53 games for the T-Yanks (52 in centerfield) while sporting a .272 batting average, a team leading 35 walks and a .395 on-base percentage.

After watching Austin appear in his first Double-A action during the Connecticut series last week, I think he will be a really solid addition to the Thunder outfield.  He seems like he has the right attitude and will certainly go all-out to make a play.  The Colorado native was drafted back in 2007 in the 9th round out of Division II Dallas Baptist University.

Here is the interview for your listening pleasure…
