Let’s play two!  A glorious doubleheader tonight as Trenton and Harrisburg play games two and three of the four-game series from an overcast and humid Waterfront Park.  Trenton and Harrisburg split the doubleheader as neither team could muster much offense with only six runs being scored in the two games combined.  Game one went to Trenton as Chris Malec was the hero again.  The switch hitting first baseman tallied his second consecutive walk-off hit to give the Thunder a 3-2 victory.  Zach McAllister (pictured) returned from the disabled list to start game one as the right-hander has been inactive since July 16th with arm fatigue.  McAllister was on a pitch count, but made the most of his first start back as he went four solid innings and gave up three hits and one run while walking none and striking out two.  Game two went to Harrisburg as Luis Atilano pitched 6.2 shutout innings en route to a 1-0 Senators victory.  Here are some of the highlights…

GAME 1

TOP 1st – Zach McAllister with a rude welcome back from the DL.  Freddie Bynum led off the game with a double and Mike Daniel followed with a RBI single up the middle to give the Senators an early 1-0 lead.

BOTTOM 2nd – Austin Krum ties the game  at 1-1 with an opposite field, two-out RBI single to plate James Cooper.

Game 2

TOP 1st – Mike Daniel starts things off with a bang as he drills the first pitch of the game over the right field wall for his 6th home run of the season to put Harrisburg quickly on top 1-0.  (Didn’t have my recorder started in time so I did not get the clip, sorry).

…back with more tomorrow as these two teams wrap up their four-game series.
